Hello lovelies!!
I would definitely be lying if I didn’t say that I have been intrigued by this whole IPL home laser hair removal world for quite some time now. So when Kenzzi reached out to me asking for me to try it out for myself, I was so excited! But I had my questions at first…
Thinking about a device that could promise to get rid of unwanted hair from the comfort of my own bathroom had me wondering, are they too good to be true? I’ve been trying it for only a week or two now but I can tell you that it has quickly become the easiest part of my hair removal routine and I am very hopeful for the results that it will bring.
So how does it work?
When you get the Kenzzi IPL Handset it comes with instructions to help you out. You essentially plug the device in, select your setting, and start your treatment. There are 5 different levels (1= low and 5= high). It is recommended that you test the intensity on a lower level before starting the treatment in order to get use to the feeling. It sounds scary, but I personally don’t really feel anything other than heat when I use it. Once you get it set up, you apply the handset to your skin in the area you want to treat. When pressed against your skin a light turns on that tells you its ready to go. It does have a safety sensor though where it will not light up if it doesn’t make direct and full contact with the skin- helpful for accidental clicks and making sure its not in your eyes, things like that. Once the light is pink, its as easy as pressing the pulse button to treat the area. You can do one pass or up to multiple passes (a max of 3 is recommended) to one area if needed. Once you’ve completed treating the areas you want, just unplug and put away.
The treatment schedule is very manageable too. For best results, they recommend using the handset once a week for the first 12 weeks. After that, just use it once a month for 3 months or until satisfied with the results. They do say that to maintain hairless smooth skin, you should still complete a treatment once every 2-3 months or as needed. Pretty easy to be honest! I have not made it past week two though so I don’t know my frequency of use once the original 12 weeks is complete. They do say that each handset has 10+ years of flashes if used as recommended so you should be able to be hair free for a long time.
Some tips that Kenzzi recommends:
- If you have sensitive skin, shave the night before or morning of your treatment to avoid skin irritation.
- Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. You should do this when you shave anyway, but especially before a treatment. Get rid of those dead skin cells girl!
- Make sure that your skin is completely clean and dry- no cream, oils or fake tan.
- However, DO make sure you moisturize after the treatment to help keep the skin healthy.
All of these and more tips and recommendations are in a guide they provider with the handset. They tell you everything you need to know, and answer questions you didn’t think to ask.
My specifics:
Because I know you all are nosy like that- I use my handset at level 5 intensity. I have dark brown/blackish hair that vary from medium to coarse depending on where you’re talking. I find that while I might experience a little bit of heat which my body handles differently in different areas, it is really painless in comparison to waxing or a chemical removal route (nair, etc).
My routine:
I usually do my normal shaving routine- ya know, exfoliating, shaving, throwing a dance party, and singing in the shower, the usual! After that, I use my Kenzzi! It is painless and doesn’t cause any ingrown hairs or razor bumps. You can use it on any area of your body too from your face to brazilian. I have used it literally from head to toe- eyebrows to legs- you name it, I’ve used Kenzzi on it!
As I’ve mentioned, I am very early in my treatment but I’ve already noticed small changes primarily in how my hair grows back just after two treatments. I will be sure to update you all when I have completed my treatment in full and let you know if my thoughts have changed.
It is a bit of an investment but definitely a worthwhile one to get hair free results similar to a professional service that would cost you a lot more. And doing so in the comfort of your own home? Can’t get any better or easier than that! Plus, with the holidays coming up, what a better time to treat yourself or put it on your gift list and hope to be surprised?
Have a great one babes!
Hi! Just wondering if you have an update on the Kenzzi since it’s been 10 months since you started. Thanks!
