Choosing your bridesmaids is a momentous step, and the way you ask them to join you on this wedding adventure can be just as special. If you are like me, you knew exactly who you wanted in your wedding party before I even knew who I was going to marry. Even though most of them knew they would be, I still wanted to give them something as a gesture and for them to know how much I care. Here is how I “popped the question” to my besties and some other unique bridesmaid proposal ideas for you to use.
Naturally, I wanted something simple and cost effective but still unique. I also plan to give them day-of gifts so it was important to plan ahead to keep cost down. I mean I want to spoil them, but have to be smart about it! I selected these frosted tumbler’s that had each of my bridesmaids names and birth flower to start as the “big ticket item” so to speak. I know us girls cannot have enough “cups” so I wanted to make sure it was personalized, yet aesthetic so it was a functional item they would want to keep. Then all of my friends know I have a favorite claw clip, and I found the exact same ones that I wanted to include so we could all match and share the love!! The smaller details I included were a personal letter to each of them (this is what made most of them cry), an info sheet that shared the wedding colors, dress, accessory information and more, and printed off these little pictures of me and each bridesmaid and placed it in the box with tissue paper that matched the color of the wedding theme.
I disguised most of my proposal boxes as Christmas gifts this year to make sure that it was a surprise and would catch them off guard. The most important thing is you do what feels special or the most “you.”
While some may consider mine “extra” I know others might also consider it “small” so I have included some other ideas or items that I think could be cute to make it less or more, whichever you decide.
1. I have to shout out one of my friends who did this really cute flower purse. It was simple yet special. I got to keep the bag and had a living bouquet of flowers for a few weeks. She stuck a damp piece of foam wrapped in plastic wrap (so it didn’t ruin the purse), then stuck flowers into it where they flowed nicely out of the bag.
2. You could take them to brunch on you, and ask them with a something small or sentimental- bracelet, scrunchie, etc.
3. Ask with a pastry or bakery item
4. Personalized wine labels- you can order for small or large bottles- easy but personal.
5. Mix and match some of these fun items to make your own unique gift and get creative with. Use a personalized bag as your box and fill it with whatever items you’d like- “i do crew” socks, favorite lipgloss that says something like “Pairs well with bridesmaid duties!” There are endless options!
From personalized wine glasses and a bottle of bubbly to monogrammed cosmetic cases filled with self-care goodies to a piece of sentimental jewelry, there are lots of cute bridesmaid proposal gift ideas that’ll elicit a big “Yes!” from your crew!
Let me know what your favorites are or your take on these fun ideas!
